Electrical Design

Our team comprises of electrical engineers and industrial electricians who have the necessary skills for the complete project lifecycle. We develop the IO List for the control system interface and with the P&ID produced by our process engineers, we generate electrical schematics with AutoCAD Electrical. This includes:

  • power distribution
  • network layouts
  • safety circuits
  • motor control
  • PLC interface schematics
  • Our design will comply with the latest AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS4024, AS/NZS 60947 and any other relevant standards. The engineers will also calculate the energy requirements and assess for any power supply and heat dissipation.

The electrical team will then proceed to assemble the electrical cabinets based on the design and schematics. The same team of engineers and electricians will go to site to install and commission the system and complete the project life cycle with training and coaching.

    Risk Assessments

We ensure the safety compliance of all our systems with our TÜV Rheinland Certified engineers. We can assist with the complete safety lifecycle of machines. We ensure compliance with AS/NZS 4024, IEC 62061, ISO 13849, IEC 60204 and any other relevant standards.

Our engineers can also assess existing installations and upgrade your running machines to the latest safety standards. We are brand independent and unbiased and therefore we will focus on meeting demands with best in class solutions. Being brand agnostic enables us to work with your maintenance department for the management of spare parts.

    PLC

Our automation engineers have extensive experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens control systems. We have been Rockwell Recognised Systems Integrator for over 30 years and have developed software libraries to reduce time to market of any project execution.

We are also automation solutions partner with Siemens and have developed software libraries and function blocks adapted to our customer needs.

Automation Mechatronics (AMI) engineers have also worked with other brands of PLC’s like Schneider, ABB, Mitsubishi, Omron. As we are brand independent, we will use the control systems best suited to the requirements of our customers to maintain uniformity across the site. The value to our customers is consistency of spare parts and optimised maintenance training.

We use ISA-S88 batching software guidelines for our process control and PackML for any smaller machines or conveyor systems. These software architectures are industry standards which will allow the vertical integration of your plant control into your MES and ERP systems and enable the use of the latest available technologies.

    HMI / SCADA

    HMI

AMI engineers have developed their library of graphics and templates which work best with their PLC code library. We are transitioning to adopt the latest ISA-101 standards for HMI and touchscreens.

As system integrators and solution partners, we have highly skilled engineers with the Rockwell Factorytalk platform and Siemens WinCC for individual or smaller scale systems.

    SCADA

For larger scale systems and plant control, AMI have partnered with industry leaders and implemented solutions with the following software platforms:

  • Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk SE
  • Siemens WinCC Professional
  • Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA
  • Citect SCADA
  • Schneider Wonderware
  • The graphics used for HMI and SCADA are similar and will provide familiarity with all AMI products. The advantage of having a standard interface for smaller and larger scale systems provides uniformity to operators which has been proven to improve the safety and reaction time for fast and critical decisions.
